At bbar, we are proud to champion important sustainability initiatives and are committed to supporting local charities such as Kidscape and The Passage. We are also proud to sustain a Living Wall of more than 10,000 herbaceous plants, creating a wildlife habitat in the heart of London as well as working to eliminate unnecessary single-use plastics.

As a proud member of The Travel Corporation (TTC), sustainability has been a core value of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection for many years. The TreadRight Foundation was established in 2008 as a uniting sustainability driver for the forty brands under the TTC umbrella.

The bigger picture

How We Tread Right (HWTR) is TTC's five-year sustainability strategy, which guides the way we operate and the projects we support through The TreadRight Foundation. HWTR identifies the issues impacting the health of our world and presents eleven strategic goals that guide our sustainability initiatives at Red Carnation Hotels. This video summarises our focus areas, how the strategy is embedded into our business, and how this aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Our Living Wall

Standing at 350 square metres and with a total of 10,000 herbaceous plants, the striking Living Wall that overlooks our al fresco terrace provides a wildlife habitat, helping to keep the hotel cooler in the summer and warm in the winter, and improving the air quality and aesthetics in this part of London.
